Best Seat In The House...

Hmmm...I think the pictures speak for themselves! Rachel is going through a stage or phase or whatever it is where she wants to climb things...or pile them high and then climb them. I don't know if she just liked the challenge here or what. I'm guessing that is part of it. I do know that with the TVs up high on the wall like ours have been since we lived in Washington you sometimes need a higher seat...especially if you are a little "peanut" and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on! She just loves that show and knows the episodes by name, has lines memorized etc...So one morning I was in the kitchen getting things ready for us to head out to the gym/Kids Klub and dance or swim and I thought to myself, "Goodness, it is quiet in there." I let her alone in rooms near where I am now for short periods of time. I'll just talk to her or peek in periodically. Well, I peeked in and found this...

After my initial,

"What the ???

She has her adirondak chair on TOP of my coffee table.

How'd she get up there?!"

Followed by,

"Honey, stay right there!

I need to get a picture for Daddy!"

I did finally say,

"Sweetie, we do not put chairs on top of table then sit in them.

Seriously, you could get hurt, my table could get hurt...

It is creative,

BUT please get down and don't do that again. Okay?"

And then there's Sheena...

I swear she's trying to look all innocent down there.

"I didn't see anything, Mommy!

Just sleeping down here!"

Yeah, right!

Anyway...thought these were kind of cute and shareworthy. Once again, it took me days to upload just these two pictures. I need to do it at the gym. It's just been crazy busy lately. I cannot believe I am working on planning a little 4th birthday celebration for our sweet girl! FOUR!!! Four??? Really??? Four years old!? Cannot wrap my head around this yet. I was stressing a bit about her birthday again this year. To me, it is truly a day to celebrate. It was one of the BEST days of my life, though taking her home from the hospital two days later was quite an extraordinary moment too. It's hard though...she's not in preschool and not quite at the point where we know a bunch of kiddos to invite. They are more like friendly acquaintances still. We live so far out here and each year I have sent a bunch of invitations out to family members and a few friends. Other than her 1st birthday, where several family members were able to make the trip out, no one really responds or can make it. I just end up feeling bad and wanting to make her day even MORE special! I will say, no matter what, each year/birthday, has been special for various reasons. She is one very loved little girl:)...even from afar.

Well, this year I figured we'd do something small...cake and ice-cream, invite our local friend and her daughter whom we tend to see at each other's birthdays now each year, and just enjoy the cake, some decorations and Rachel opening presents. I had little "Hello Kitty" invites made just so I can document the occasion in the scrapbooks, made a birthday banner and party hat, will do the annual pictures etc...BUT then her Daddy had a different idea. He approached me last month with it. "Why don't we take her to Disneyland for her 4th birthday? It will probably be her last one before the kid ones she'll start having once she is in school." Um, okay!!!! Cool! I think the first thing I said was that I need to find her a "Belle" princess dress for her Birthday Lunch with the Princesses! And I did! So we will be at Disneyland in less than four days! I have all the "character" meal reservations made, her Belle dress and shoes set aside and I am expecting her Minnie Mouse "Birthday Girl" t-shirt in the mail any day now. Yay! What a wonderful surprise this year. Nice job, Daddy! When we get back...I'll continue with my little "Hello Kitty" plans. I can't let a year go by without a "theme" cake:)...
