Well, I think this post catches me up for the month of June! That's what happens when you are sick though it is not easy to look at a computer much of the time. Honestly, someone has been sick in our house since July 2nd! It's been crazy. It started with Rachel, then I started feeling lousy, then it hit Rachel again, mine continued and somewhere in all of that Frank got hit. It has ranged from cold symptoms and cough to stomach flu. Just ick. I think we are all on the other side of it, and hopefully will be back to our regular selves in the next few days. I am ready to feel good again. I will not miss the headache, body aches, sore throat, coughing and sneezing. I will not miss Rachel, in a whiney voice, saying, "Boogies..." and having to wipe her nose a hundred times a day. Nor will I miss asking her to use "big girl words" and merely say, "I need a tissue." or "Will you help me wipe my nose, Mommy?" Ughhh...being sick is no fun...being sick in the Summer is really, really no fun...
So...in June we had a special treat! We got to see our friend, Timmi, perform in a play at her middle school. It was really good! I miss going to school plays. When I was teaching, I tried to go every year. Here is Rachel, waiting for us to get into the car. I must give a little shout out to my beautiful and talented friend, Christine, as she made this darling sundress for Rachel. Made. Sewed. From material and a pattern! As one who does not/cannot sew...this always amazes me. Christine and my mom are both very talented in this way. I admire them both for it. I do, however, know how to use "heat and bond" and fabric glue! Watch out world:).
Rachel & Daddy waiting for
"You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown."
to begin...
We couldn't take any photos during the production,
so I made up for it afterwards.
Oh, and that is the matching hairbow
Christine made for the dress.
Rachel would not let me put it on her at home,
so I took it in my purse...just in case.
She found it during the show and put it on herself.
There is a matching purple dotted sash too,
but she likes to wear it around her neck as a scarf,
so it stayed in my purse...

She loved "Snoopy" and REALLY
wanted her picture taken with her.
