It is official though...Rachel is walking "hands-free". She has been doing so since about June 1st. It is so cute to watch her unsteadiness and determination at the same time. She was "cruising" back at the end of November/beginning of December at @ 8 1/2 months old, and we thought for sure she'd be walking by her 1st birthday. But...nope...wasn't ready to "let go". She was taking a few "hands-free" steps to Frank and me back in January at @ 9 1/2 months old...but obviously wanted to take her time. She had become super fast at crawling and apparently was choosing that as her primary mode of transportation:). Mommy was in no big hurry:)...but her Daddy was encouraging her every "step" of the way! Then, one night, I was holding something she wanted and she walked over to me...lots of steps. We kept encouraging and "practicing" with her, and now it is so neat to see her actually choosing to walk rather than to crawl. She smiles the whole time too like she is having so much fun doing it! She seems almost as proud of herself as Mommy & Daddy are. It is with very mixed emotions that Mommy watches this every day...my baby is growing up way too fast...some adorable pictures...

walked from her music table to her rocking chair...

yay! :) that's so exciting!! :) i understand how you feel because milo seems on the verge of crawling and all the while i'm encouraging him to do so there's a little voice in the back of my head saying "no! it's too soon ~ i don't want him to grow any faster!! :)"
she is just the cutest little thing! i love all of her outfits ~ she must be one of the best dressed babies i've ever seen! does she ever get dirty?? :) that last little outfit is just adorable! :)
oh how fun....i always found that when they were ready to walk...that if you give them something to hold in their hand, they seemed to not realize it would hold them up!!!! :)....such a fun time, and fun for mommy cuz they are in to everything...and fast!!!! :-)
just came from jamie's and little milo is "lurching" all over the place and gets where he wants to!......i'm ready for him to stay a baby longer....but am happy that he is such a little curious soul!!
